David W Cleary

David was born in the late 1960s and grew up in the British Rail era of diesel and electric locomotives, which made an impression on him from a very early age. His interest and work generally concentrates on more modern subjects including current railway operations. Preferring to work almost exclusively in a digital format allows David to add high levels of detail. A lot of research is done to get liveries, logos and typefaces accurate. He also includes appropriate warning labels, signs and information plates, to try and obtain a photo realistic feeling to his drawings.
After a career managing financial IT systems in the City of London, David now draws purely for relaxation, although he has previously produced a number of illustrations for books and magazines; mainly related to his other love – Jaguar cars.
