Paul Freestone GRA
Although encouraged to pursue art as a youngster, Paul was diverted into a career in science, education and latterly, its management. Following this phase, he took the opportunity to develop his art from a leisure pursuit onto a professional footing, eventually joining the Guild of Railway Artists, becoming a full member in 2015.
Through botanic illustration, his work pays particular attention to detail while interests range across landscape, natural history, and transport history, including classic vehicles and particularly the age of steam.
He lives in Chudleigh, Devon, not so far from Brunel’s GWR line next to the sea and over the Devon banks, beside Dartmoor.
His work is exhibited locally, Guild exhibitions and his commissions have found homes across the world.
